Job Description
401GO is a rapid growth fintech start-up with a relentless focus on helping hard-working Americans prepare for retirement. We’ve built the world’s most advanced and fully automated retirement platform and need a Plan Specialist to help assist with compliance-required document reviews, plan transfers, corrections, and profit-sharing experience.
We’re looking for someone that has experience in 401(k) administration to the level that the individual is comfortable navigating all sorts of elements of a company’s 401(k) plan with regard to compliance and plan document provisions. We would also like that person to live in the Salt Lake area (this is not a remote position, but there are remote days allowed).
Required Experience
- 4+ years of experience in ERISA 401(k) administration
- QKA is not required but a definite plus
- Strong time management experience
- Proven experience in helping others around you and building up co-workers and clients
- 3+ years experience in team environments
- Prior start-up experience
- Prior 401(k) experience
- Prior payroll experience
- GTD (Getting Things Done) experience
- Fintech or financial services experience
- Fluent in pig Latin
Required Skills
- 401(k) Compliance: You must have experience with 401(k)-related compliance. This includes, but not limited to: Nondiscrimination Testing (ADP/ACP, Top Heavy, 410(b), etc.) to the point that you can talk through this with a customer. Be familiar with profit-sharing calculations, and understanding how typical ERISA corrections need to take place. (The 401(k) experience is the most important portion of this application, and was put in the middle because I want to make sure you’re reading through the application.)
- ERISA Agreements & Documents: You must have experience navigating a plan document (adoption agreement, SPD, disclosures, etc.) and knowing where to find any and all provisions (regardless of the document provider). This includes disclosures and other notices. Some experience with amending/changing documents is a plus.
- 401(k) Plan Conversions: Although it’s not required like the other two things, it is a definite plus to have experience with plan transfers from one provider to another. This process is pretty straightforward, but we need someone that can navigate this immediately or with very little training.
- Team focused: We are all focused on doing our best and determined to see the success of 401GO and growing as individuals. We want this opportunity to build you and those around you. This is not something you will do alone, and you should be someone that relies on your team, while your team can rely on you.
- Responsiveness: We expect you to be responsive and professional about your communications to those internally as well as externally.
- People person: You will work with our client success team and providing expertise and guidance to customers either through that team or in joint discussions.
- System savvy: We want someone that can navigate new systems, learning quickly, as well as learning how to use those systems to the best of their abilities.
- Efficient mind-set: Look for ways to do things better and faster without sacrificing quality.
- Problem-solver: Although we have amazing technology, you will need to work just as amazingly as the technology.
