Why is your service so affordable?
There are two key factors that allow our pricing to be much lower than the industry standard.
The first is technology. We built our platform from the ground up, with internet-based 401(k) set-up, management, maintenance and compliance specifically in mind. Most all of our competition, by contrast, uses the same inefficient software, which pre-dates the internet and requires many tasks be done manually by many people, which in turn increases the risk of errors which requires hiring still more people. We’re all for keeping unemployment low, but not like that.
These efficiencies keep our costs down, and that’s reflected in our low pricing.
The second factor is service bundling. 401GO is a third party administrator (TPA), record keeper and custodian (through our partner Matrix Trust) and 3(38) investment fiduciary, all under one roof. Being a bundled provider makes for a much better experience for you and adds still more efficiency for us.

How much is the setup fee?
Setup fees are not allowed here. We just don’t do it.
How much is the termination fee?
Zip, zero, nada. While some providers try to keep your business by charging high termination fees, we prefer the great service and cutting edge technology approach.
What happens when an employee leaves the company?
Employers pay the per-participant fee only for current employees who are actively contributing to their 401(k) account. You will not be charged for those who leave your employment.
Terminated employees are charged for their own accounts, at a discounted rate. They are also have the option of rolling their assets into an IRA.
Which fees are paid by the employer and which are paid by the employee?
The per-participant and base fees are paid by the employer. The assets under management (AUM) fee is pulled from plan assets, and thus paid by the participants.
What are the advantages of each pricing option?
We offer different pricing options to best fit the needs of your organization.
GO-STARTER: This is our least expensive option, and a good choice for very small companies. This option operates with a Safe Harbor plan. GO-STARTER plan sponsors and participants have access to live, expert support, but no not have a dedicated relationship manager.
GO-PLUS: If your business is growing, if you want a traditional (non-Safe-Harbor) plan, or if you are transferring your existing plan from another provider, this GO-PLUS is probably right for you. This option comes with extras, like an ERISA bond, a dedicated relationship manager, and access to our True360™ integration.
GO-MAX: This is our most feature rich plan option, best suited to fast growing firms in a competitive hiring market.
